A multinational commercial bank with its headquarters in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, is called MCB Bank Limited.. The bank has a wide network of 1,551 branches in Pakistan. Pakistani company Nishat Group and Malaysian bank Maybank have the largest stake.

In order to explore foreign markets, the bank’s management changed the name of the institution from Muslim Commercial Bank Limited to MCB Bank Limited in 2005. It faced resistance to license especially from Western countries because of the word Muslim. In 2008, the MCB head office was shifted from MCB Tower, Karachi to Lahore, to a newly constructed building, MCB House, located on Ghous-ul-Azam Street, commonly known as Jail Road.
