Electric Wheelchair Scheme for University Students (Phase-III) The Prime Minister’s initiative to provide electric wheelchairs to university students with ambulatory disabilities is now accepting applications from those enrolled or planning to enroll in undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. programs at Public Sector Universities and Affiliated Colleges for the Fall Semester of 2023. Eligibility Criteria for the 2023 Electric Wheelchair for Disabled Students Scheme

To be eligible for an electric wheelchair under this scheme, students must meet the following criteria:

Must have a permanent physical disability that requires the aid of a wheelchair to move around
Should be unable to cross curbs due to paralysis or leg function loss
Have lost one or both legs
Must be registered for the Fall 2022-23 academic session at an HEC recognized Public Sector University or affiliated college in any province, AJ&K, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and enrolled in Undergraduate, Postgraduate, MS/MPhil or Ph.D. programs
Possess a valid certificate of the special person/physical disability from the relevant Competent Authority/Government Institutions

Follow these easy steps to apply for the PM Electric Wheelchair Scheme 2023:

Firstly, make sure to check the eligibility criteria before submitting your application. Once you meet the requirements, move on to the next step.
Head to eportal.hec.gov.pk/wheelchair to access the online application form. Fill in the form completely and submit it before November 30, 2023.
Once you have submitted the form, take a printout of the application and attach all the necessary documents. Then, submit the hard copy to the office of the respective Vice Chancellor/Registrar/designated person.
